Tragic Incident Involving Florida Hiker and Alligator

Chance Allison, the grieving boyfriend of Brittany Clark, has spoken out following her tragic death at the jaws of a massive alligator. Clark was killed by the creature, which severely injured her, and Allison stated that she didn’t deserve such a horrific fate.

“It still feels unreal. We had so many plans, so many memories to create together,” the 31-year-old said in a heartfelt message on Facebook, reflecting on their relationship with nostalgic photos. “You were incredibly special, and it’s just not fair you went like this. I love you, and no need to stress about those who might not have a positive outlook; I’ll handle them.” He also mentioned plans for a “celebration of life” to honor her memory.

Clark, along with her roommate Jaden Hernandez, was swimming in the Econlockhatchee River within Little Big Econ State Forest on Sunday when the tragic attack occurred. According to authorities, Clark managed to grab onto her chin while Allison tried desperately to rescue her from the clutches of a 13-foot alligator.

A disturbing audio recording of a 911 call reveals the chaos of the moment, with one caller describing Clark’s injuries as “terrible,” noting that one arm was completely severed while the other was barely attached. In the background, Clark could be heard crying as the dispatcher inquired about the location of her severed arm.

Clark, who worked as a bulldozer operator, tragically lost her life on the way to the hospital, succumbing to what the coroner described as “multiple blunt force injuries to the upper extremities.”

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission indicated that Clark was likely not provoking the alligator in any way prior to the attack, which occurred in shallow water, estimated to be around three feet deep. Two alligators were subsequently captured near the scene, one measuring approximately 13 feet and the other around 12.5 feet, both of which were euthanized.

“Samples from the alligator have been collected and the investigation is ongoing,” the FWC noted in their statement.
