Limited Immunity Granted to Transgender Girlfriend of Alleged Assassin

The girlfriend of Tyler Robinson, suspected in the assassination of Charlie Kirk, has been given limited immunity following a statement she made to authorities in April, as outlined in a court filing from June 16.

According to prosecutors, they obtained “exemption from use” for a recorded statement provided by Lance Twiggs, who discussed her interactions with Robinson at the time of Kirk’s killing. This statement is expected to be utilized during a preliminary hearing scheduled for July.

“On April 20, 2026, while preparing for the preliminary hearing, Mr. Twiggs gave a recorded statement under oath,” said the filing. “She was informed that false statements could lead to legal repercussions, including obstruction of justice charges. Additionally, she was granted usage immunity by both the United States Attorney’s Office and the Utah County Attorney’s Office, meaning her statements from that meeting may not be used against her.” The filing also included significant developments in the case.

Twiggs reported that Robinson communicated electronically, claiming he had killed Kirk. This allegation is part of the official documentation regarding the case.

Brian Entin from NewsNation corroborated the information about Twiggs receiving limited immunity in his report on June 17. He noted, “The ‘qualified’ aspect is noteworthy; it opens up options for prosecutors.”

Utah Governor Spencer Cox shared that a family friend had identified Robinson as a suspect after Kirk was fatally shot during a speaking engagement on September 10, 2025. The friend mentioned that Robinson had grown more politically active and recounted a conversation in which Robinson purportedly expressed dislike for Kirk.

Reports indicate that Twiggs has seemingly vanished from her home in St. George, Utah, following the assassination. She has been transitioning from male to female and moved in with Robinson in 2018 after her devout Mormon parents disowned her.

Robinson was seen smiling during his first pretrial hearing in December 2025.
