Missing Woman from Utah: Urgent Call for Information

The boyfriend of a Utah woman, who vanished from a California beach earlier this month, is making a public appeal for information regarding her disappearance, which police are treating as a potential case of foul play.

Daniel Staley, aged 35, was last seen during a bonfire at Rio Del Mar State Beach near Aptos on November 6, around 11:30 p.m. The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office indicated that recent evidence suggests Mr. Staley could be at risk, raising concerns about possible foul conduct.

“I won’t stop until I find her. And I’m not going anywhere; I’m here,” said Arques Nunez, her boyfriend, in an interview. “I truly appreciate everything people are doing, but I want to take more action instead of just sitting in a hotel room. So, I’m asking anyone with any information to please speak up. Detectives are working diligently.”

He added, “As God is my witness, I have nothing to do with it.”

Staley is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing around 120 pounds. On the night she disappeared, she was reportedly wearing a black hoodie and leopard print leggings.

The Sheriff’s Office is encouraging anyone living or working near Beach Drive, Rio Del Mar Boulevard, or nearby streets to assist with any available surveillance footage, as they seek to piece together what happened.

Nunez mentioned that he did not attend the bonfire where Staley was last seen; instead, he was sleeping in the camper they were traveling in. Authorities are currently searching the vehicle for clues. “When I woke up, she wasn’t there. There’s this private property with multiple cameras; we should have video footage of everything that happened between around 11 a.m. and 6 a.m.,” he said.

A Sheriff’s Public Information Officer noted that Staley was reportedly with an “unknown group” at the beach when she went missing.

According to authorities, Staley’s personal items were discovered on the beach, and she has not made contact with her family, which strays from her usual behavior and increases concerns for her safety.
