Video footage has captured a dramatic incident involving an Iranian flight, where unexpected, violent shaking led to significant chaos in the cabin. This event occurred during a Sepehran Airlines Boeing 737 flight flying from Mashhad to Kermanshah.
Reports suggest that the aircraft may have encountered engine issues and suffered a tire blowout upon takeoff. As the turbulence intensified, ceiling panels along with debris from overhead bins fell onto passengers, causing panic. Many were heard screaming and praying, desperately bracing against the collapsing items.
In light of the turmoil, the pilot declared an emergency and attempted to return to Mashhad Hashemi Nejad International Airport. Fortunately, the landing was successful, and no injuries were reported among the 127 people on board.
This unsettling incident also led to a temporary closure of one of the airport’s two runways as an investigation into what transpired was launched. Passengers were later placed on another flight to continue their journey.
Decades of international sanctions, as noted in reports, have severely impacted Iran’s aviation sector, making it difficult for local airlines to acquire newer aircraft and proper maintenance parts. As a result, carriers often find themselves reliant on older planes while attempting to keep their fleets in the air.
