Pat Mahomes Finally Weighs In on Harrison Butker’s Christian Commencement Speech

Pat Mahomes defended the character of Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker after the forward faced intense backlash for defending Christian values ​​in a recent commencement speech.

Butker, a devout Catholic, gave the commencement speech at Benedictine College, a Catholic university in Kansas. In her speech, Butker freely urged men to embrace their masculinity, slammed President Joe Biden’s pro-abortion stance, and urged women to consider motherhood a career choice. Speaking with reporters at overtime in Kansas City on Wednesday, Mahomes said he didn’t agree with everything Butker said but defended his character and called him a “good guy.”

Some of you may keep sending them, but if I had to guess, I would say that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into the world.

“My beautiful wife Isabelle will be the first to say that her life truly began when she found her calling as a wife and mother. I owe all of my success to a girl I met in my middle school class who converted me and became my wife, and who taught me one of my most important qualities as a housewife. I can’t stress enough that I’ve started my journey.”

On Wednesday, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said “diversity of opinion” improves society.

“We have over 3,000 players,” Goodell said.

“They have the same diversity of opinions and ideas as America, and that’s something we value. It’s one of the things that ultimately makes our society better.”
