Investigation into Trump’s Birthday Notes Initiated by FBI
FBI Director Kash Patel announced an investigation regarding birthday notes where President Trump has mentioned Jeffrey Epstein multiple times.
The White House asserts that a memo from the Epstein Estate features a forged signature attributed to Trump.
During a discussion with Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.), Patel concurred with the decision to investigate.
“I’ve seen a photo, and the president claims it’s not his signature. Would you consider opening an inquiry into the Epstein Estate for issuing fraudulent documents?” Moskowitz asked.
Patel inquired about the justification for such an investigation.
“They literally issued fake documents with forged signatures to replicate the president’s signature, and that’s the basis for it,” Moskowitz replied.
“Of course, I’ll pursue it,” Patel responded.
The memo details a message from a woman, indicating that the two individuals noted similarities between them.
James Kommer, the Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, recently refused requests for handwriting experts to analyze the signature while the committee looks into the Epstein documents.
“Honestly, the aim of this investigation is to seek justice for the victims, uncover the truth about Epstein Island, and determine if the government had any involvement. I don’t think discussing birthday cards from two decades ago fits into that,” Comer stated at that time.
Trump filed a lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal in July for publishing a story about a letter he purportedly sent to Epstein. The White House maintains its stance on the credibility of the Epstein Estate’s released letter following a subpoena from the Comer committee.
“It’s evident that President Trump did not create this document nor sign it,” said White House Press Secretary Carolyn Leavitt earlier this month. “President Trump’s legal team will continue to pursue legal action.”
