Patel Dismisses Several FBI Workers Linked to Trump Mar-a-Lago Probe

FBI Director Fires Employees Linked to Mar-a-Lago Raid

According to NBC News, FBI Director Kash Patel has dismissed several bureau employees who were involved in the 2022 raid on President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate. Patel claims that during the Biden administration, his phone records were obtained covertly as part of an investigation concerning Trump.

Reports indicate that at least six FBI agents were fired. The raid in August 2022 was executed under Patel’s guidance, and sources suggest that more than ten employees, including agents and support staff, were let go. The FBI has not commented on this situation.

The firings reportedly coincided with Patel’s announcement that federal authorities had secretly accessed his phone records related to the Trump investigation. He expressed his concerns to Reuters, stating it was “extremely disturbing” that former FBI officials had “secretly subpoenaed” his records, along with those of current White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, and kept this process under wraps.

The FBI Agents Association reacted to the firings, denouncing what they termed the “unlawful termination” of special agents. They argue that such actions violate the rights of those dedicated to protecting the nation.

The association further stated, “These actions weaken the department by stripping it of critical expertise and destabilizing its workforce,” warning that these firings could undermine confidence in leadership and impair the department’s hiring efforts.

Further complicating matters, NBC noted that since Trump’s return to office, the FBI has dismissed employees connected not only to the Mar-a-Lago investigation but also to inquiries related to January 6. David Sandberg, a former senior official ousted early in the administration, has also declared his candidacy for the House of Representatives.

NBC’s report revisits the August 8, 2022, raid on Trump’s Florida home. Previously reported by Breitbart News, a warrant for this search was signed by U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart on August 5, 2022, but the FBI waited until August 8 to carry it out. The warrant allowed agents to search areas used by Trump and his staff, while excluding guest suites and private areas occupied by third parties.

Internal emails obtained later revealed that some FBI officials expressed concerns ahead of the raid regarding the sufficiency of probable cause. One assistant special agent noted, “There is little clarity as to who is responsible for the mishandling of documents,” pointing out that the investigation relied on “uncorroborated” and “single-source” information. Another questioned if it was “fair to bring this up” without new information, citing a lack of “new facts to support the PC.” Still, the Justice Department moved forward with its investigation.
