Patricia Richardson Reunites with Tim Allen for Upcoming Show

Fans of the classic sitcom “Home Improvement” might do a double take this fall when former cast member Patricia Richardson returns to the screen alongside Tim Allen. Known for her role as Jill Taylor, Richardson’s appearance has notably changed since the iconic series aired in the ’90s.

At 74, Richardson no longer sports her trademark chestnut bob. Instead, she has embraced a new look with long, white hair, which she began growing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In an Instagram post from October 2020, she humorously remarked, “OK, my covid hair is growing here,” showcasing the contrast between her dyed hair and her natural white roots. Fans quickly praised her for her “beautiful” natural style, flooding her comments with compliments.

Richardson has been confidently flaunting her white mane on various occasions, including an episode of “NCIS” in 2021 and at the premiere of “Chantilly Bridge” in March 2023. She’s also participated in events like the SAG-AFTRA gathering in Los Angeles in December 2023.

A reunion is on the horizon as Richardson joins Allen and other former co-stars for the season 2 premiere of Allen’s latest ABC show, “Shifting Gears,” as reported by Deadline.

The official Instagram account teased the episode, stating, “The world is in conflict. Look at Shift Gear x Home Improvements at the season premiere on October 1st!” This marks the first major reunion since “Home Improvement” concluded in 1999.

Joining Richardson and Allen will be Debbe Danning, known for her role as Al Borland’s colleague, along with other familiar faces from the show. While details on their specific roles remain under wraps, they are expected to support Allen’s character, Matt Parker, in unexpected ways.

This isn’t the first time Richardson has collaborated with Allen since “Home Improvement.” She appeared in two episodes of “Last Man Standing,” where she played the caring neighbor Helen Potts. Despite the years that have passed, Richardson has continued to shine in the entertainment industry, taking on roles in shows like “Strong Medicine,” “The West Wing,” and “Grey’s Anatomy.”
