The attorney said he would push for aggressive economic reforms to improve the standard of living for West Virginians.
“West Virginia has an opportunity to really leapfrog,” he explained. “Our standard of living, our standard of education drives workforce participation. I would argue that we can do that while upholding West Virginia’s conservative values.”
“We want to compete more aggressively with other states,” Morrissey said, referring to Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and Kentucky.

“Economically, we want to win every state that we’re involved in,” he said.
“I want to eliminate the income tax. It’s really important for us to be more competitive and to be the only state in the region with no income tax. We’ve done that, we’ve expanded school choice significantly and we’ve maintained our conservative values,” he added.
