New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson says he was recently hospitalized for several days after experiencing an unusual medical emergency involving neurological symptoms.
The 24-year-old said the symptoms affected his strength, coordination and other physical functions. Extensive tests came back reassuring, he said, but doctors have not identified a cause.
Henderson said he is continuing to work with specialists and physical therapists as he focuses on recovering and returning to full health. He described his long-term well-being as his top priority.
He thanked his wife for supporting him throughout the ordeal, as well as his family, friends, the Patriots organization and others who have reached out with encouragement and prayers. Henderson also said his faith has helped him find peace during the difficult period.
He had appeared on the Patriots’ injury report with an illness, though the nature and severity of his condition had not previously been made public.
Henderson is in his second season with New England, which selected him in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft after his college career at Ohio State. Through six games this season, he has rushed 52 times for 203 yards and a touchdown, and caught five passes for 45 yards.
As a rookie, Henderson ran for 911 yards and nine touchdowns. He also recorded 35 receptions for 221 yards and a receiving touchdown.
