Rand Paul Accuses Biden of Pardoning Anthony Fauci
Senator Rand Paul from Kentucky has made some serious allegations against former President Joe Biden. He claims that Biden issued a blanket pardon to Anthony Fauci, essentially avoiding accountability. Paul argues that this move might be linked to perceived dishonesty in Fauci’s testimony before Congress.
As the chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, Paul referenced remarks from Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, who believes Fauci may have committed a felony by not being truthful under oath. There’s a notion floating around that someone needs to step up and take legal action.
“You have to claim a felony from him. Take him to court, and the court will decide whether or not the pardon is upheld,” Paul asserted.
He continued, “You can argue until you’re blue in the face about the use of an autopen and whether the president actually knew. But the only way to kind of sort this out is to charge someone who’s been pardoned.” Paul mentioned Fauci specifically but noted that others, like Hunter Biden, could also be implicated.
Paul pointed to Fauci’s testimony at a Senate hearing back on May 11, 2021, where the National Institutes of Health (NIH) stated that it wasn’t funding gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute. Fauci maintained this position in several following hearings, though contradictory evidence has come to light.
Despite Fauci’s repeated claims, other officials have acknowledged that the NIH did fund gain-of-function research, putting a hole in Fauci’s assurance.
“We testified before Congress in an active, passionate way that the NIH never funded research into Wuhan’s gain-of-function virus,” Paul remarked, highlighting the apparent contradiction from those involved in funding.
In a related note, former President Donald Trump has urged the Department of Justice to investigate the Biden administration’s practices involving autopen signatures for documents. This comes amid concerns about Biden’s cognitive decline and scrutiny over whether his signature was genuinely signed—or if he was unaware of it. Notably, Fauci’s first pardon was executed using an autopen just before Biden’s term came to a close.
