Peacock TV’s ‘Queer Planet’: Gay, bisexual animals documentary

NBCUniversal’s streaming outlet Peacock TV is set to air a documentary about gay, lesbian and transgender animals titled “Queer Planet,” which has sparked widespread reaction on social media.

Peacock has released a promotion for the documentary, which is set to be released next month.

‘Queer Planet’ delves into ‘gay penguins, bisexual lions’ [and] “The clownfish changes sex” — one of the experts interviewed for the documentary said, “Humans are the only ones who have that kind of prejudice about clownfish.”

“The idea that there are only two fixed genders is clearly outdated,” actor Andrew Rannells, the promo’s narrator, said in the video, which went viral on social media.

Another commentator interviewed for the documentary asserted, “Mother Nature is pretty open-minded.”

“No matter where you look on Earth, it’s clear that nature is full of strange surprises,” the narrator says in a promo interspersed with footage of animals mating.

Critics on social media mocked the promotion. Observed by 1 X user“No, this is not satire.”

another X User Opinions “This is very strange and evil for our young people,” he said, claiming the documentary promotes “scientific revisionism for a diabolical gay agenda.”

Another critic wrote, “I’m so tired of LGBTQ being shoved down my throat.”

But others were less critical.

X users are Genbuwrites as follows: “It’s true that there are homosexuals outside of our species and in the animal kingdom. That would make them and LGBTQ people normal. Still, that doesn’t mean they’re the majority. As long as it’s placed in that context, the rest of us shouldn’t be “triggered” by it. ”
