Pelosi Addresses Biden’s Cognitive Health Concerns

During a talk in Sacramento, California, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi expressed that she was not aware of any cognitive issues with former President Joe Biden during his 2024 re-election campaign. She mentioned that individuals who were aware of his condition should have stepped forward.

At the “California Agenda: Sacramento Summit,” the 86-year-old politician remarked that she had “no idea” about Biden’s health problems prior to his challenging debate on June 27, 2024, against President Donald Trump. His disjointed performance during that debate raised questions about his age, ultimately influencing his choice to suspend his re-election efforts.

“I think whoever knew should have acted on that information, no matter who knew,” she stated. “The staff said the family knew.”

In a conversation with Jonathan Martin from Politico, Pelosi shared her thoughts about Biden’s situation, saying he seemed unaware of his health issues, while also encouraging Trump to rethink concerning polls regarding his campaign.

“I just said to President Biden, ‘I’m here to question the way you’re polling and running your campaign,'” Pelosi stated. “Because at that point, 72 percent of Americans thought he shouldn’t run.”

Furthermore, Pelosi recounted a private meeting at the White House where she advised Biden to disclose his doctor’s findings to reassure the public about his capability for another term.

“We’re Catholic, we were praying, we had rosaries and things like that,” Pelosi recalled. “We had a wonderful encounter. It was just the two of us.”

At the summit, she reflected on her feelings regarding Biden’s debate performance against Trump, stating, “When you think about the debate and how sad it was, that’s when we really learned. I didn’t know. I think he had his own ups and downs.”
