Democratic Speaker Emeritus Nancy Pelosi ignored President Biden’s declaration that he would not withdraw from the presidential race, suggesting she had not yet decided whether to remain a candidate.

Biden has repeatedly said he will not withdraw from the presidential race, recently writing in a letter to Democratic lawmakers that he is “firmly committed to remaining in this race, fighting to the end, and defeating Donald Trump.”

But Pelosi suggested Biden is still undecided about whether to continue the campaign, given the division among Democrats on the issue.

“It’s up to the president to decide whether he wants to run or not, and time is running out and we’re all urging him to make that decision,” Pelosi said Wednesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” when asked if she would support the president for reelection.

The Democrat added that Biden is “loved and respected and people want him to make that decision.”

Asked whether she wanted Biden to run for president this fall, Pelosi reiterated that Biden still had a decision to make about reelection.

“I want him to do whatever he decides to do. That’s the way it is. Whatever he decides to do, we’ll follow it,” Pelosi said.

Pelosi’s office did not respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital about whether she believed Biden had not yet made a decision, despite his public announcement that he would run again.

Despite his attempts to shore up his reelection position, concerns are growing within the party about Biden’s strength as a candidate after eight House Democrats called on him to drop out of the race.
