Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) weighs in on President Biden ending his re-election campaign this year, saying her concerns about Biden's re-run are not about the president himself, but about his campaign. He said it was a thing.
Pelosi made her latest comments about Biden's resignation from the campaign in a new interview with CNN host Christiane Amanpour that aired Saturday morning. Amanpour asked her about reports that she played a key role in persuading Biden to resign, and asked why it was the right move for the party.
“Right now, my concern wasn't about the candidate, it was about the campaign,” she said, adding, “He's a great guy.”

Pelosi is one of several Democrats, including Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York, who reportedly called on Biden to resign following the disastrous outcome of the June debate. It was a person.
Amanpour broached the subject by asking Pelosi if she had spoken to Biden since Vice President Harris took over.
“I haven't talked to him since July, but of course we've been inactive for a while and I'm always campaigning,” she said, adding, “I have great respect for the president. “There is,” he said. ”
“I think his legacy is very important to our country. It's our legacy. I didn't want that to be lost,” Pelosi said, pointing the finger at the campaign rather than Biden himself. He continued that there was.
“But I think the campaign is not moving in the right direction and I have expressed concerns about that,” she added.
Pelosi made a similar point in a recent interview on the Guardian's Politics Weekly America podcast. “I have the utmost respect for him, and I think he's one of our country's greatest accomplishments,” Pelosi said in an interview published Tuesday. “I think his legacy had to be protected. While the election was going on, I never thought something like that would happen.”
She went on to tell British media: “My call was just, 'Let's move forward in a better direction.'” He'll decide what that is, and he made that decision, but I think he's nervous because we've been friends for decades. ”

Biden said in an interview with CBS News in August that Democratic lawmakers urged him to leave.
“Many of my Democratic colleagues in the House and Senate thought I would hurt them in the race. And I thought if I stayed in the race, it would be talked about and why I did it. “I was worried that they were going to interview me about it,” Nancy Pelosi said, “but why did she do it, and I thought it was really distracting,” Biden told CBS News' Bob Costa. spoke.
On CNN, Amanpour asked the congressman if he thought Democrats would have won the election if Biden had still been on the ticket. “You know, that's a tough question for me to ask. I don't understand how anyone could vote for Donald Trump, but they do, so we have to prepare,” Pelosi said. “No,” he answered.
She acknowledged that she was concerned that Biden's age would pose a challenge for the party.
“However, I think it was a generational thing that needed to be recognized because he was too old to run for president.”
