"Perhaps I should support Jasmine Crockett": Lauren Boebert humorously comments on and compliments James Talarico during the intense Texas primary

Boebert Commends Talarico’s Senate Bid, Lightly Critiques Crockett

Republican U.S. Representative Lauren Boebert from Colorado recently offered a nod of approval to Texas Democrat James Talarico’s Senate campaign during an appearance on “Real Time with Bill Maher.” She even tossed in a playful dig at her rival, Democratic U.S. Representative Jasmine Crockett.

During the show, Boebert and Talarico discussed a variety of topics, ranging from her beliefs to Talarico’s notable interview with Stephen Colbert. Boebert complimented Talarico on his notable campaign progress and quipped that he might have a leg up on Crockett in the upcoming primary.

She mentioned, “I’m focused on the Constitution rather than the campaign,” emphasizing her priorities.

Talarico humorously acknowledged Boebert’s achievements, saying, “I would like to genuinely congratulate Ms. Boebert on her successful campaign so far,” which elicited laughter from both Maher and the audience.

Boebert also clarified comments made in the context of Talarico’s and Colbert’s discussions, agreeing with Crockett’s view that the federal government played no role in the cancellation of their interviews. “President Trump wasn’t the one who nixed your corner,” she noted, adding that the decision stemmed from the television network’s preferences.

Boebert continued, “This was a network choice. They probably didn’t want her on the show.” Interestingly, she also pointed out that the way the segment aired likely contributed to its success, claiming it garnered over 5 million views and helped raise $2.5 million within a day.

The conversation turned toward the canceled Colbert interview, where Talarico alleged it was a directive from President Trump. “I’m not worried about the campaign; I’m focused on the Constitution,” he declared.

Boebert countered, “But it wasn’t the president who said, ‘Please don’t air this.’ It was about equal shared time, part of the existing rules. The network decided they didn’t want to comply.”

While the exchange highlighted differing views, it also revealed the sometimes humorous and complicated nature of political discourse.
