Person Linked to Palisades Fire Contributed to Biden 2020 Campaign

The individual linked to the Pacific Palisades fire in Los Angeles earlier this year reportedly contributed to former President Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign.

On Wednesday, Bill Esseri, an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, announced that Jonathan Rinderknecht, who is 29 years old, had been arrested on charges of intentionally igniting the fire that escalated into the Palisades Fire in January.

Esseri stated that Rinderknecht allegedly started the fire in Pacific Palisades on New Year’s Day, which ultimately grew to become one of the most destructive fires in Los Angeles history, leading to fatalities and extensive damage.

According to the Federal Election Commission, an individual sharing the same last name as Rinderknecht made a total contribution of $2 to Biden’s campaign. Records indicate he donated $1 on September 4, 2020, and $1 again on September 11, 2020.

As reported, Rinderknecht indicated that he was “registered to vote in Florida” but had never “taken a stance on a political party.”

According to Breitbart News, the fire erupted on January 7 near a popular hiking trail that overlooks the affluent coastal region.

That same day, another fire in Los Angeles, known as the Eaton Fire, claimed 19 lives and destroyed approximately 9,400 buildings. The cause of this fire is still under investigation.

Rinderknecht was arrested in Florida and is facing charges of arson and criminal damage to property, as stated by Acting U.S. Attorney Bill Esseri during a press briefing in Los Angeles.

This fire became the most destructive blaze in Los Angeles history.

Reuters reported that Rinderknecht allegedly recorded a video on his cell phone of firefighters battling the flames.

In addition, during a 911 call, Rinderknecht supposedly asked ChatGPT whether he would be “held responsible if a fire ignited” due to a cigarette. Reports suggest that ChatGPT responded affirmatively.
