The U.S. military faces declining standards and an overemphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion under the Biden-Harris administration. 2022”wake warfightersThe report, compiled by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas), is the most comprehensive study of how woke ideology has infiltrated and co-opted the military. It highlighted some of the worst examples.
The Biden administration's 2022 National Security Strategy lists “promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion” as a top priority for the U.S. military, ahead of other traditional goals. Recruiting videos now focus on diversity rather than service. One particularly controversial animated ad, featuring a young woman raised by lesbian parents who joins the military, is a sharp departure from its previous “Be All You Can Be” message.
While partisans focus on discrediting a decorated veteran and strong advocate for service members, the military faces a recruiting, retention, and morale crisis.
Former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley testified before Congress and said he wanted to understand “white anger.” The Special Forces' 2021 Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Plan states that “SOCOM will implement a 'Special Operations University Joint Diversity and Inclusion Curriculum' to emphasize what makes 'diversity'.” I am. [Special Operations Forces] It's an operational imperative. ”
The 18-page report, which received surprisingly little media coverage at the time of its release, details numerous examples of how such ideology has permeated the military. Pete Hegseth has emerged as a vocal opponent of this approach, vowing to end the Department of Defense's DEI madness. Not surprisingly, he has become a target of the mainstream media and leading Democrats.
Hegseth is a decorated veteran with many years of military service and military advocacy, before transitioning into the media world as a popular host on Fox News. Despite his qualifications, critics discount him as just a “television host” and rely on viewers not investigating his distinguished career. Agenda-driven partisans have revived baseless and discredited sexual assault accusations that were resolved years ago. His enemies have mistaken his tattoos, which reflect his deep Christian faith, as symbols of white supremacy.
Mr. Hegseth has long opposed the push for DEI into the military, arguing that it undermines military effectiveness, weakens the military and endangers U.S. security. His stance and statements that combat roles are unsuitable for women have made him a prime target of the identitarian feminist left. The smear campaign against Hegseth will no doubt escalate as his confirmation hearings approach.
While partisans focus on discrediting a decorated veteran and strong advocate for service members, the military faces a recruiting, retention, and morale crisis. As a decorated Iraq War veteran with a large following on social media, I frequently receive messages from active duty soldiers. They voiced dissatisfaction with the Biden-Harris administration's military policies, including declining standards that produced a weaker military, DEI efforts that undermined unit cohesion, and the enlistment of pro-American youth, traditionally the military's strongest recruits. They cited hesitation to do so.
Hegseth plans to reverse these trends. The partisan Democratic smear campaign must be set aside to allow him to restore the strength and greatness of America's military.
