Phil Mickelson calls out Fred Couples for ‘jerk move’

“If it wasn't true, he hurt the relationship he cared about,” Mickelson wrote.

“If that's true, he's taken Brooke's timeline and story control. Either way, this is a low-class jerk move by Fred.”

The post was related to comments made during the appearance of the couple KJR 93.3 FM in Seattle on Monday.

“I always talk to Brooks Koepka,” the couple said. “I love Brooks Koepka. I'm not going to say anything extra except I always talk to him. …He wants to come back. He really wants to go back and tour.”

Koepka set out on a rival golf tour in 2022 ahead of his first season of LIV.

Around this week, we will follow a major meeting at the White House last month. Tiger Woods, PGA Tour Commissioner Jaymonaghan and Governor Yasir Arlmayyan of the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund.

This type of second meeting was seen as a move to end the division between the two tours.

“Thanks to President Trump's leadership, we have begun discussions about unifying golf,” the PGA Tour said in a joint statement.

The tour shared details when needed, adding that it was “committed to moving as quickly as possible.”
