Philip Low, a former friend of Elon Musk, anticipates that Musk will do all he can to harm Trump.

A former associate of Elon Musk has suggested that the billionaire isn’t done with President Trump, despite Musk’s recent comments distancing himself from the former president.

Philip Low, a neuroscientist and founder of Neurovigil, claimed that Trump’s ex-adviser hasn’t retreated from conflicts with significant individuals. “I shared a unique relationship with Elon over the years,” Low remarked to Politico. “What I gather is that he will likely make efforts to undermine the president.”

Earlier this month, Musk expressed frustration towards Trump, particularly about a substantial legislative act impacting the deficit in significant ways.

The former head of the government efficiency office was vocal about his criticisms, declaring, “Without his support, Trump will lose the upcoming election. The Democrats will reclaim the House, and the Republicans will hold a slim 51-49 majority in the Senate.”

Musk previously ridiculed Trump’s Marquee Megaville as “filled with wasteful spending” and criticized it as “distasteful and hateful,” even suggesting the formation of a new political party. Additionally, he made a bold accusation linking the president to Jeffrey Epstein.

Later on, Musk tweeted, “I regret some of the comments I made about President Trump last week.”

Trump seems to have taken a more forgiving stance, referring to Musk as someone who “generally does well.” He acknowledged their history, expressing that Musk had campaigned with him but added that Musk’s recent behavior was unexpected.

Speculation emerged regarding any public reconciliation between the two, with some saying it might just be superficial. “He felt slighted,” Low commented, suggesting Musk’s supposed support for Trump was more about helping the president with campaign investments than genuine allegiance. “Deep down, it’s over.”

Neuroscientists pointed out that Trump has a tendency to return to his previous alliances. Perhaps Steve Bannon was easier to deal with than Musk, but it seems the ex-adviser had his own issues with Musk.

Musk was initially involved with Neurovigil, supporting the development of the Ibrain, which is designed to monitor brain activity non-invasively. However, he stepped back in 2021, leaving the advisory board to focus on his own venture, Neuralink.

Earlier this year, Low was publicly critical of Musk, taking aim at their former friendship on social media.

This past weekend, Musk reignited his criticism of the recent significant legislation as Senate Republicans prepared to push forward with their proposals.

“All members of Congress who campaigned on reducing government spending only to vote to increase the national debt should feel ashamed!” Musk vented on his platform. “If it’s the last thing I do, they’ll face consequences in the primaries next year.”
