A Philadelphia police officer shot and killed a Cane Corso and three other dogs as they attacked a man on the street Wednesday morning, police said.
According to police, officers were patrolling the Mantua area of the city at around 10:15 a.m. when they received a call about four dogs running loose in the area.
At the corner of Fairmount Avenue and Fairmount Street, officers observed a Cane Corso and three pit bulls attacking a 53-year-old man.

A police car was heard blaring its siren “to distract the dog,” but to no avail, police said.
Desperate bystanders can be seen trying to scare the beast away, but a police cruiser quickly pulls up and drives them away.
As the dogs continue to tear apart the helpless victim, the officer pulls out his gun and exits the vehicle.
“Those mothers, shoot the police!” one man can be heard shouting.
Officers fire several shots and dogs can be heard barking. The Cane Corso, the largest dog, runs away before falling.
Three pit bulls took off, one of which could be seen limping.
The victim suffered bite wounds all over his body and was taken to Presbyterian Hospital in stable condition, police said.
The police officer was not injured.
