A Phoenix man has been brought to Kansas on charges of murdering a 42-year-old man after a multi-state investigation.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation announced in a news release that a 75-year-old man was booked into the Reno County Jail in Kansas on Wednesday.

Investigators obtained a warrant for him in late January and arrested him in connection with the March 1982 murder of 44-year-old Michael McCune in Phoenix. He was taken to Kansas after waiving his extradition.
A 75-year-old Phoenix man has been arrested in connection with a murder that occurred in Kansas more than 40 years ago.
Investigators believe Mr. McCune was shot to death in his car, which was parked in the lot outside Hutchinson’s apartment building. His body was discovered the next day, according to the KBI.
The KBI said investigators conducted several key interviews in three states that provided additional evidence needed to move forward with charges in this cold case.

The KBI announced that he will be formally charged during his first court appearance on Friday.
