Employee Accused of Armed Robbery at Arizona Shake Shack

A 33-year-old employee at Shake Shack in Arizona, identified as Keondre Simmons, faces serious charges for allegedly robbing his workplace at gunpoint. This incident took place on August 3, around midnight, and shocking details reveal that he returned to work just two days later, still in his uniform.

According to court documents, Simmons took a break from work and later returned under the guise of expecting a delivery. He opened the back door, only to be met with a gun. The assailant reportedly forced him into a walk-in cooler, locking him inside while also making another employee accompany him at gunpoint to retrieve money from the safe.

The armed suspect threatened the on-duty manager, ordering him to unlock the safe. Under duress, the manager complied, and approximately $2,800 was taken and placed into a black case that the suspect carried. The two employees were eventually able to escape from the cooler, but not before facing further intimidation, as the suspect made them kneel in an office and destroyed their phones by throwing them into a sink filled with water before fleeing.

Investigators soon identified Simmons as the suspect and, quite remarkably, he returned to Shake Shack in his work attire just two days after the robbery. It was there that he was arrested by the authorities.

Simmons allegedly told police that he had disposed of the outfit he wore during the crime and claimed the firearm used was located in his home. He now faces charges including armed robbery, aggravated assault, and kidnapping and is due in court on August 25.
