A creepy man posing as a livery taxi driver drugged and sexually assaulted a woman in the car in a terrifying incident early this week, according to police sources.
Officials said the 34-year-old woman got into 55-year-old Umar Randhawa's car on Roosevelt Avenue in Queens around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, believing him to be a car hire driver.
Officials said Randhawa drove his trusted passenger to Hancock Street near Irving Avenue in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
Officials said that at some point during the commute, the fake driver drugged the passenger with an “unknown drug” to make her sleepy and touched her private parts.
Sources said the victim managed to call a friend on WhatsApp, who then called 911.
Officials said officers responded to the scene in Bushwick, Randhawa was arrested and the victim was taken to a local hospital.
Police said Randhawa was charged with sexual abuse and forcible touching.
Randhawa has been arrested four times in the Big Apple, most recently for grand theft in 2018, authorities said.
Police said he had previously been arrested for driving under the influence in 2008, bail jumping in 2000 and assault in 1999.
