Police Release Photos of Suspect in Shooting of Jets Player Kris Boyd

The New York City Police Department has shared two images of a man who is wanted in connection with a shooting that left New York Jets player Kris Boyd injured in midtown Manhattan early Sunday morning.

The photos depict a black man wearing a black beanie. While the identity of the suspect remains unknown, he is described by police as “wanted for assault.”

“On Sunday, November 16, 2025, at approximately 2:06 a.m., a firearm was discharged in front of 156 West 38 Street, resulting in a 29-year-old male victim being struck in the abdomen,” the police reported on Facebook. They added that the shooter fled the scene on foot, headed east on West 38th Street.

The suspect is described as male with a medium complexion, last seen wearing a black hat, black sweatshirt, black pants, and carrying a black school bag with multi-colored sneakers.

It was later confirmed that Boyd, age 29, was the shooting victim. A friend of Boyd’s mentioned that he is recovering well.

“He’s OK right now. He’s doing well. Really well,” said Eric Kwander to the New York Post on Sunday.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams also addressed the incident, expressing his concern.

“I’m praying for Kris Boyd and his family,” Adams posted on X. He also noted the importance of continuing efforts to combat gun violence, highlighting that too many lives are impacted by such incidents.

Response from the Jets and Teammates

The Jets organization acknowledged the situation, stating, “We’re aware of what’s going on with Kris Boyd and have no further comments at this time.”

Teammates Harrison Phillips and Jermaine Johnson reached out to fans on social media, urging them to pray for Boyd’s recovery.

“Everyone please send prayers to my brother and teammate Chris Boyd and his family!!! Lord, please place your healing hand on Chris and bring him back to health and safety,” Johnson posted.

Phillips added, “Lord, guide every doctor, nurse, and surgeon who has touched him. Please give strength to his family! Chris is a fighter, and we’re all here for him.”

According to police, a 29-year-old man was shot in the abdomen and transported to the hospital in critical but stable condition, later identified as Boyd.
