A New York woman on a beach vacation in Florida is recovering after a pickup truck “running her head” while tanning in a chair.
The tourist's names have not been made public, but an incident occurred in Daytona Beach on Wednesday before 3pm. The Volusia Sheriff's Office said in a press release..
Unsuspecting sunbathing, 71, was attacked by a vehicle as he was pulled out of a parking lot near the beach.
The victim reads the release, “When Chevrolet Colorado parked next to it being pulled out of the parking lot, he was sitting in a beach chair behind the car.”
The 84 female drivers “turned right towards the beach exit,” but did not see beach fans before hitting her, saying, “I ran her and ran her head with the right rear tire of the truck.”
Unbeknownst to her that she had turned over to someone, the driver began taking off before flagging the witness, according to the release.
Police say the victim remains in the hospital but is in stable condition.
Although police have not been appointed as a driver, she was released after pointing out that none of the signs of a Telltail of Disability was on display.
The press release did not mention the extent or severity of the injuries in women.
