A surprising incident was captured on video showing a pickup truck running over a Lamborghini valued at $250,000 in Florida, while the driver was still inside.
The Lamborghini driver, Ramon Ferrer, expressed his relief at being unharmed after his vehicle was crushed beneath the truck in a parking lot at a gym in Lake Nona on Wednesday.
“She was going pretty fast, so I stopped. I was reversing. I think she probably didn’t notice me and just went right over,” Ferrer recounted to Wesh.
He described having mere seconds to react during the alarming event while he was looking for a parking spot in the Orlando suburb.
“I leaped out of the car because I noticed the wheels were still spinning; it seemed like she was determined to keep moving,” he remarked.
Fortunately, Ferrer emerged without injuries, attributing his safety to divine help and mechanical issues with the pickup.
“Honestly, God saved me, absolutely, and the other reason was her axle got caught in the windshield pillar,” he explained.
“Otherwise, she would have completely flattened me. It could have been a disaster. I doubt I would be here now. It’s just wild,” he added.
Feeling devastated, Ferrer lamented the loss of his luxury car, which he had owned for just five months.
“It felt amazing to finally buy a car, only for this to happen so soon,” he shared.
The damaged car is currently at an auto body shop for repairs, but Ferrer is still contemplating what went wrong with the pickup driver.
“I don’t get how you can miss an entire car. Sure, it’s a Lamborghini, but still, how could you overlook it?” Ferrer pondered.
The pickup truck driver’s identity has yet to be revealed, and it’s unclear if she received any citations.
Orlando police have not responded to requests for additional information.
