Talk show host Piers Morgan seems to have softened his stance regarding Jake Paul’s boxing career after Paul and his team hinted at possible legal action. Previously, Morgan made a post where he referred to Paul’s matches as “The Boring Stage Bulls–.” He clarified that while he didn’t intend to suggest the outcomes were predetermined or illegal, he believes that if Paul is indeed negotiating a fight with Anthony Joshua, it could be a serious matchup against a top heavyweight.
Morgan took to social media to express that he wasn’t retracting his earlier comments, although he did delete the initial post. In response, Paul made a statement mocking Morgan, saying he would sue anyone who thinks his fights are staged, claiming such insinuations reflect jealousy. He also added that he prays for those against him, expressing a desire for a better world.
Recently, Paul mentioned that he had instructed his team to address false claims about his boxing career and enlisted lawyer Alex Spiro for assistance. Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of MVP, pointed out that Morgan’s implications of a staged fight could harm both Paul’s brand and the integrity of the sport. He emphasized that attacking the Athletic Commission’s oversight of the event could have serious implications.
In defending Paul, Bidarian stated that all of Paul’s fights are sanctioned by the Athletic Committee and follow professional regulations, asserting that it’s absurd to claim otherwise. As Paul’s reputation continues to grow, calls for investigations into the legitimacy of his matches are increasingly common, but supporters argue that all of his fights are professionally managed and legitimate.
