Piers Morgan hinted Monday that he is canceling ABC's “The View” in the wake of President-elect Donald Trump's victory, prompting hosts to ask what is “wrong” with the United States. This question has repeatedly arisen.
“I don't like cancel culture, but given that the hosts of 'The View' have worked so hard to cancel Donald Trump, by their own admission, The time has come to do so,” Morgan wrote in an op-ed. new york post.

Hostin has regularly blamed racism, sexism and misogyny for the vice president's defeat, and his co-hosts have repeatedly discussed what went wrong for Democrats in recent weeks. She also said it had “nothing to do with policy” but rather “cultural resentment.”
Morgan described his co-hosts as “partisan obsessives competing with each other to see who hates Trump the most.”
“Because 'The View' has become a meaningless, irrelevant parody of itself and we urgently need to put it, and all of us, out of its misery,” he added.

Some point to Hostin's question to Harris during an on-air interview with the vice president in early October as part of the reason she lost to Trump. Hostin asked the vice president if he had acted differently than President Biden over the past four years.
Harris responded, “Nothing comes to mind,” which made it easier for critics to link her more directly to the unpopular incumbent.
On a recent episode of the show, Hostin and Griffin clashed over school choice while discussing the president's next choice for education secretary, but they were quickly cut off by Goldberg before they could appear in a commercial.
After returning from commercial break, Goldberg noted that the “beauty” of their show was that they had different opinions, and co-host Joy Behar said they were all “miserable.” He declared and agreed.
“We lost the election. We're miserable. Half this country is miserable. And let's be real. We hate that he won. We hate that. And now who I'm nervous and crazy,” Behar said.

The show has been touting its ratings in recent weeks amid criticism that it is outdated. In response to reports that Trump would either change course or find a host who supports Trump, a spokesperson said: “The View is an opinion-based show featuring a diverse panel of women with different perspectives.'' The current panel is as follows. It clearly resonates with viewers, given that the series had its highest-rated episode in more than a decade and reached its highest total viewership in four years.”
A spokesperson for the show did not respond to a request for comment.
