Spirit Airlines Pilot Arrested for Allegedly Stalking Minors

A pilot working with Spirit Airlines has been arrested and removed from flying duties after allegations emerged that he stalked two minors.

Dominique Armando Chipola, 40, faces two counts of stalking. One of these charges is a felony related to allegedly targeting someone under 14 years old. The minors in question were born in 2008 and 2013. According to the criminal charges, his actions caused reasonable fear among people and families. Details about specific suspicious behavior were not disclosed, apart from incidents that reportedly occurred on August 5, 2024.

A representative from Spirit Airlines stated, “We are aware of the situation concerning the pilots at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY). It’s important to note that it was unrelated to their professional responsibilities.” They also mentioned that the pilot has been removed from his position while the investigation continues, and a different pilot has been assigned to ensure flight operations proceed smoothly.

Chipola was arrested on July 17 at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, stemming from accusations made in Olathe, Kansas. Following his arrest, he faced charges that initiated from law enforcement in Elno, Oklahoma. He was booked and later released on bond set at $12,500.

His court appearance is scheduled for August 12, as per online records from the Johnson County District Court.
