Former Bill Clinton adviser Mark Penn has criticized the Democratic National Committee (DNC) for prioritizing attacks on third-party candidates over President Joe Biden’s dire improvement in approval ratings.
The DNC and Biden’s reelection team are working to counter third-party candidates, particularly Robert F. Kennedy Jr., whom they see as a threat to the president’s reelection. Penn told Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom” that because it’s difficult to predict the impact third-party candidates will have on the 2024 presidential election, the DNC is focusing instead on Biden’s performance. He insisted that it should be poured. (Related: Democrats launch latest attack to undermine another third-party candidate)

“If I were the Democratic National Committee, I would be concerned about Biden being four or five points behind,” he added. “What is the campaign doing about the core issues – poor employment performance, inflation, immigration?
