Pizza Hut Closes 15 Locations in Indiana with 120 More at Risk

Restaurant chain Pizza Hut reportedly closed 15 dining locations in Indiana on Friday, putting 120 others at risk of suffering the same fate.

The restaurant company is currently embroiled in a legal battle with its franchisees. New York Post report on tuesday.

EYM Group, which owns and operates 142 Pizza Hut restaurants in Illinois, Indiana, Georgia, South Carolina and Wisconsin, is accused of failing to make millions of dollars in payments it allegedly owes to Pizza Hut by a June deadline.

EYM blames Pizza Hut for failing to modernize its menu and digital ordering system, putting it at a disadvantage in the face of stiff competition from casual dining companies including Little Caesars and Domino’s.

Amid these difficulties, Pizza Hut recently Revealed 9 News reported Tuesday that the restaurant will be serving Chicago Izakaya-style pizza in four different recipes.

The media added that the brand now also offers eight additional toppings and sauces.

“These menu additions represent a bold step forward as part of our culinary mission to offer our guests modern innovation that incorporates what we know they want and love in pizza,” explains Rachel Antarek, the restaurant chain’s chief food innovation officer. “Tavern is more than just pizza; it’s a culinary trend that reflects the excitement of today’s pizza scene.”

In 2022, Pizza Hut came under fire for promoting a book about a boy who “cross-dressed” and wore a magic wig, Breitbart News reported.
