Due to weather conditions, the Giants will receive a reprieve from another plane banner on Sunday.
A banner meant to mock the Giants for letting Saquon Barkley walk to the Eagles ahead of the teams' matchup in Philadelphia was canceled due to temperatures and winds. High visibility aerial advertising told NJ.com.
The banner was to read “TY NY FOR NO.” 26.”
Fans have previously paid Woodbine, N.J.-based High Exposure to fly a banner over MetLife Stadium twice before kickoff.
The first one flew on December 8th and read: “MR. Mara has had enough – please fix this dumpster fire.''
A banner put up on Dec. 15 read: “Enough is enough, Mara – we won't stop until everyone is fired.” A fan who identified himself as “Miguel” on the “Talkin' Giants” podcast paid $1,500 for the banner.
Giants owner John Mara also took time off last week for the team's final home game against the Colts.
Due to the weather conditions on the day, three banners were also canceled.
The Giants entered their final game of the season with a 3-13 record on Sunday, but lost their chance to win the No. 1 pick thanks to last week's surprise win against the Colts and Saturday's loss to the Ravens to the Browns. Ta.
It remains to be seen whether Mara will heed fans' calls for general manager Joe Schon and head coach Brian Daboll to be fired.
The paper's Paul Schwartz reports that a decision regarding the pair may not be made on Black Monday, and that each will meet with the owners before their fate is decided.
