Planet Fitness’ status as a “judgment-free zone” appears to have significantly diminished its value as a company.
The fitness chain lost $400 million in market value after revoking the gym membership of an Alaskan man who filmed a transgender man shaving in a women’s locker room, the newspaper reported. It is said that he did. daily mail.
Planet Fitness’ value fell from $5.3 billion to $4.9 billion.
The story of a man shaving in a girls’ locker room went viral after it was shared on TikTok’s popular X account Libs. The account, popular with those opposed to transgender influence and radical gender ideology, accused Planet Fitness of prioritizing men’s “inclusivity” over women’s safety and privacy.

On Tuesday, Lib on TikTok bragged about Planet Fitness’s declining market value and called on followers to continue boycotting it.
“Wow. Planet Fitness lost $400 million in value because we reported on it allowing men in the women’s locker room and banning women who exposed it. People… It turns out we don’t want to support companies that succumb to gender pseudoscience and allow men into women’s private spaces. #BoycottPlanetFitness Don’t give up! Keep going!”

Patricia Silva, a patron whose membership was revoked, said a 12-year-old girl was in the locker room when the man started shaving. Planet Fitness confirmed it was revoking Silva’s membership while reaffirming her commitment to “inclusion.”
“As the home of the Judgment Free Zone, Planet Fitness is committed to creating an inclusive environment,” said CEO McCall Gosselin.

Efforts to boycott Planet Fitness come after Bud Light, the once popular beer brand, achieved huge success by including trans activist Dylan Mulvaney’s face on its beer cans. It reminds me of the initiative.
