Plurality of Republicans Voting on Election Day, 1/3 Early

The Republican National Committee's new message (Republicans (encouraging early voting) appears to be working. Research by Rasmussen Reports.

investigation asked“Which voting method are you most likely to use in this election? Or are you more likely to wait to vote on Election Day?”

Overall, 39% of people said they were waiting until Election Day to vote. Another 37% said they voted early in person and 21% said they voted by mail.

Forty-three percent of Republicans said they were waiting until Election Day to vote, but an additional 36% said they planned to vote early, and one in five (19%) said they planned to vote by mail. I answered yes.

By comparison, an even higher percentage of independents (47%) said they were waiting until Election Day to vote, while only 27% of Democrats said the same. An additional 33% of independents said they would vote early and in person, as did 41% of Democrats. Only 18% of independents said they vote by mail, compared to 27% of Democrats.

Despite Republicans' touted election integrity efforts, a majority (62%) said they were very or somewhat concerned that the outcome of the 2024 presidential election would be affected by fraud.

The survey was conducted on September 18-19 and 22, 2024 among 1,114 likely voters. There is a margin of error of +/- 3%.

The results come as the revamped RNC encourages Republicans to save votes.

“We also want to encourage people. Our message is a little different than traditional voting. We know that traditionally, Republicans prefer to vote on Election Day. “What we want this election cycle is for people to vote early,” RNC co-chair Lara Trump told Breitbart News in the summer, adding, “We're not going to leave this to chance. Because you can't do that,” he added.

“Things happen in life, and if you wait until Election Day, you'll never know. So we want to make sure people hear that message loud and clear,” she added.

Former President Donald Trump has also promoted that message as far back as 2022, saying that until Republicans return to power and change, Republicans have “no choice” but to “live with a stinking system.” he told Breitbart News at the time. that.

“It's not a question of whether the system is broken. The system is corrupt,” President Trump told Breitbart News. “It's a corrupt system. Mail-in ballots are always corrupted. If you go to a polling station and they ask for your ID and everything else, you can't vote unless you have a legitimate transaction. There's a mail-in vote. No one knows where it comes from or where it goes, and it passes through so many hands.”

But because this is the system currently in place, Trump said Republicans “have no choice” but to play the game.

“They have no choice. They have to,” Trump said.

“But this is a corrupt election, and I'm sure Democrats will want to fix it, too,” Trump added. “Our elections are completely corrupt. Democrats should want to fix it. They won't, because it's in their interest to keep it the way it is. But Republicans have no choice but to fix it. There's no choice. It's going to be very difficult, but Republicans have to figure it out.”
