Police: 100,000 Organic Eggs Worth $40,000 Stolen From ‘Back Of A Trailer’ In Pennsylvania

A new investigation is underway after roughly $100,000 organic eggs stolen from the back of a Pennsylvania trailer are worth more than $40,000.

On Saturday, the eggs were stolen from behind a distribution trailer outside Pete & Jerry's organic – about 8:40pm

When Pennsylvania State Police Chambergberg responded to the location, they discovered that around 100,000 eggs had been stolen, worth at least $40,000.

“Pete & Gerry's is aware of the recent incident in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, and we are actively working with local law enforcement to investigate,” the company said in a statement. CNN Tuesday.

“We take this issue seriously and are committed to solving it as soon as possible. With continued research, we cannot comment further on this issue,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, authorities have not stated how such a major theft occurred unnoticed, or whether the authorities have a potential lead in the case.

According to CNN Chart, the average price of eggs in December 2024 was $4.15, an increase of about 14% since November. The average annual rolling price is $3.17.
