Police were called to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) campus early Wednesday morning as anti-Israel demonstrators and counter-protesters clashed, Reuters reported.
According to Reuters, violence broke out on campus after pro-Israel protesters tried to clear the encampment. Quote School newspaper. “Due to the horrific acts of violence that occurred at the encampment tonight, we immediately requested mutual aid assistance from law enforcement,” Deputy Prime Minister Mary Osako said, according to CBS News. “Fire and medical personnel are on the scene. We are tired of this senseless violence and it must end.”

Anti-Israel demonstrators set up camps at multiple universities across the country. On Tuesday night, police cleared Columbia University’s Hamilton Hall after protesters occupied it that morning.
