Police chief rips suspect’s release after another arson incident at Tesla dealership

The Colorado State Police Chief has blown up the release of Bond suspects who allegedly threw Molotov cocktails into the vehicle and sprayed “Nazi cars” at Tesla dealers.

Just after midnight on Friday, Roland police officers answered an arson call at a local Tesla dealer, where they sparked a fire between two cars at the facility, finding “several residents within Tesla at risk,” according to the police station.

The scene smelled strong like gasoline and several vehicles were damaged by what appeared to be thrown rocks, officials said.

According to a press release, Loveland Police Chief Tim Dolan said, “It is extremely difficult for citizens to keep them safe from imitation behaviour if there is no lawless impact.”

Lucy Grace Nelson, 40, previously identified as Justin Thomas Nelson, was arrested last month in connection with four incidents of vandalism at a Tesla dealership and explosive use of the device.

According to Chris Paget, the police department's information manager, she was put in jail on a $100,000 cash bond and was released the following day.

“We could not be more disappointed with the criminal justice system that frees individuals with PR bonds that have placed agitated devices in Loveland's business,” Doran added.

“This decision not only is it troublesome for our community, but it also reflects the broader issues we face nationwide,” he said.

Officials said Friday's latest arson incident did not appear to have a direct connection to Nelson's release.

Loveland's criminal investigation team is gathering evidence from the incident, along with the Federal Alcohol Service, cigarettes, firearms and explosives.

According to the police department, the Tesla dealer was destroyed and three separate explosive devices were discovered in January before officers arrested Nelson on January 24th.

Officials said they caught her late at night at a local Tesla dealer using explosive devices and vandalism material.

According to the arrest affidavit, the $220,000 car, worth a total of $220,000, was thrown with an explosive device made from an empty liquor bottle.

Officers said they found spray paint, gasoline, empty bottles and a can of cloth that could have been soaked with accelerator in Nelson's car.

The department is investigating the possibility that others may be involved in repeated vandalism, Padgett previously told the Post.

Officials are investigating Nelson's motives, but the protests from Tesla owner Elon Musk are “reasonable suspicion,” an intelligence officer previously told the post.

Loveland Police Station did not immediately respond to requests for updates regarding the investigation.
