Police have identified the suspect in the Walmart stabbing in Michigan.

On Sunday, police named a 42-year-old man suspected of injuring 11 individuals in a random stabbing incident at a Walmart in Michigan. The man, identified as Bradford James Gill, was arrested in Afton, Michigan. Authorities are pursuing terrorism charges as well as 11 counts of assault with intent to kill.

Manson Healthcare, the largest healthcare provider in northern Michigan, reported that seven of the injured are in fair condition, while four remain serious. Specific ages of the victims haven’t been disclosed. The hospital noted signs of positive recovery among patients in an update.

The statement also acknowledged the dedication of the hospital staff—surgeons, nurses, and other personnel—who have been focused on treating the victims, highlighting their commitment and compassion as a testament to the resilience of the healthcare community.

Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michaelcia indicated that the suspect will face charges for intent to murder alongside the terrorism and assault charges. Right now, the reasons behind the attack are still unclear.

Reportedly, the suspect acted alone, using folding knives to incapacitate nearly a dozen people after entering the store. He was apprehended quickly, suffering no injuries, with bystanders even assisting in tending to the victims.

Tiffany Defell, 36, who was about 25 miles from the scene, described the chaotic moment from the Walmart parking lot. She expressed how frightening the situation was for her and her sister, pointing out that while such violence might seem like something out of a movie, it was shocking to encounter it in their community.

The FBI is also getting involved, sending agents to provide additional support, as noted by Deputy Director Dan Bongino on social media. Walmart spokesperson Joe Pennington stated that such violence is unacceptable and expressed gratitude for the swift actions of first responders. The company will continue cooperating with law enforcement throughout the investigation.
