Police hunt for man, 25, after fatal stabbing of woman in Bradford | UK news

Police are searching for a 25-year-old man after a woman was stabbed to death while pushing her baby in a pram in Bradford city centre.

West Yorkshire Police are appealing to the public to report any sightings of Habibul Masum, from the Oldham area.

Police said the 27-year-old woman, who has not yet been formally identified, was stabbed in the Westgate area of ​​Bradford at around 3.20pm on Saturday. She was taken to a hospital where she died from her injuries.

Her baby, who was in a stroller at the time of the attack, was not injured. Investigators believe the woman and her attacker knew each other.

DCI Stacey Atkinson said: “We understand that the murder of a young woman in such shocking circumstances causes great concern in the local community. We will continue to investigate further. , residents can expect a continued heavy police presence in Bradford as we carry out reassuring patrols in the area.

“We have significant resources to follow up on a number of investigations to locate Habibul Masum, but his whereabouts are unknown at this time.”

Police described Masum as an Asian man with a slim build. He was seen on surveillance cameras wearing a padded jacket with three large horizontal lines in grey, white and black. Light blue or gray tracksuit bottoms with a small black emblem on the left pocket. And a maroon sweatshirt. Witnesses reported seeing him wearing a gray hoodie.

Mr Atkinson said: “A knife has been recovered from the murder scene, but we do not know whether Mr Habibul Masum was armed.
