Attempted Break-In at Larsa Pippen’s Mansion

Over the weekend, three men reportedly attempted to break into the luxurious home of Larsa Pippen, a star from “Real Housewives of Miami,” in South Florida, according to local police.

The Pineview Police Department indicated that the suspects targeted Pippen’s mansion on Sunday. They managed to break a few windows but were interrupted when the house’s alarm system triggered an alert to law enforcement, resulting in a dramatic arrest. Notably, Pippen, who is 51 and the ex-wife of basketball legend Scottie Pippen, was not at home during the incident.

The suspects—Trayson Rashe Booker and Cortez Damon Johnson, both 23, and Elijah Eugene Russell, 18—were apprehended within minutes of the botched break-in.

Interestingly, Pippen watched the attempted burglary unfold via surveillance footage while police were responding to the alarm.

Pinecrest Police Chief Jason Cohen, who was on-site, witnessed the suspects trying to flee in a car, which ultimately collided with another vehicle and a fence. Cohen recounted how he personally arrested Russell after a brief chase, during which Russell jumped over a fence and into a canal in an attempt to escape. Cohen remarked, “If he hadn’t jumped into the canal, he probably would have caught me,” highlighting the chaos of the situation.

The police suspect that Pippen was deliberately targeted by the trio from Georgia, but they are still confirming the details surrounding their intentions. Chief Cohen noted that the three appeared to head straight for Pippen’s house, a point that the detectives are investigating further.

Fortunately, Pippen’s alarm system was effective in thwarting the break-in attempt, which may have saved her property from potential theft. Currently, the three suspects face charges of attempted robbery among other offenses and are being held at a correctional facility with bail set between $7,500 to $8,000.
