Police video reveals father days prior to the suspected murder of his three daughters

Dashcam Footage Released in Washington Father Murder Case

A recently released police dashcam video shows Travis Decker, a military-trained father, who is now a suspect in the murder of his three daughters shortly before their bodies were discovered. Decker, who is under massive scrutiny, had been accused of involvement in the deaths of his daughters—Olivia, 5, Paicin, 9, and Evelyn, 8—after they went missing.

In the video from Fox 13, Decker, dressed in a blue shirt and shorts, appears to be calmly interacting with police following a minor car accident incident where he collided with another vehicle. This interaction took place three days before his daughters reportedly failed to return home after a scheduled visit with him.

Details of the Incident

The events unfolded on May 27 when the three girls were supposed to return to their mother after spending time with Decker. Officers responded to the report of the accident where Decker was seen speaking with police alongside another individual at a local Safeway parking lot. According to a police report, he was alleged to have hit a vehicle that was slowed by traffic, damaging its front bumper, and was also driving without insurance at the time.

While Decker’s ex-wife reported the girls missing after they did not return from their visit, authorities later discovered the tragic fate of the children, who were found to have been suffocated and hidden at a campsite near where Decker’s truck was abandoned.

Manhunt Developments

As the investigation continues, the search for Decker—a self-described survivalist—has intensified, involving local, state, and federal agencies. Law enforcement officials describe him as armed and dangerous but have also stated there is no current threat to public safety. They have launched an extensive manhunt, fueled by his military background and survival skills.

On July 5, authorities received a tip regarding a man matching Decker’s description seen in Idaho’s Bear Creek area. However, this lead turned out to be a false alarm. The police clarified that the individual in question was not Decker.

As of now, Decker faces three counts of aggravated first-degree murder and remains at large. A reward of $20,000 has been posted for information leading to his capture.
