An overwhelming majority of voters in Tuesday’s Ohio Republican primary think the state’s next senator should publicly support former President Donald Trump in the White House race, according to a CBS News exit poll. .
70 percent of voters possession This belief. Specifically, 55% feel it is “very important” that Ohio’s next senator supports Trump, and 15% say it is “somewhat important.”
Conversely, 29% of respondents believe the opposite. It doesn’t matter to them that the senator supports Trump. Nine percent said they felt it was “not very important,” and 20 percent said it was “not important at all.”

The poll pits Republican businessman Bernie Moreno, backed by President Trump, against establishment-backed opponent state Sen. Matt Dolan (R) for incumbent Sen. Sherrod Brown’s (D-Ohio) seat. It was held inside.

CBS also revealed that a majority of Ohio Republican primary voters report that they do not believe President Joe Biden fairly won the 2020 presidential election. When asked, “Did Biden legally win in 2020?” 62% of respondents answered “no” and 32% answered “yes.”
And relatedly, only about one-third of Ohio Republican primary voters say Biden legitimately won the presidency in 2020.

The number of people surveyed and the margin of error have not been disclosed as the election continues until Tuesday night.
Breitbart News reported Monday that Moreno had a 9-point lead over Dolan, according to an Emerson College poll. Moreno’s approval rating was 38%, while Dolan’s was 29%. The poll was conducted among 450 likely Republican primary voters between March 17 and 18, 2024, and had a margin of error of plus or minus 4.6 percentage points.
