ALDI announced this week that it is recalling some frozen taquitos after reports emerged that the products contained “possible foreign material.”
The discount supermarket chain announced the recall on Monday.
ALDI said in a statement that the product “Casa Mamita Chicken & Cheese Taquitos” may contain metals.
The recall affects 20 oz. Box of Casa Mamita Chicken & Cheese Taquitos with UPC code 4061459337471. The expiration dates for recalled products are 07/02/25 and 9/25/25.
This product was distributed to ALDI locations in Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Washington DC, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, and North Dakota . , New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia, Vermont, Wisconsin, and West Virginia.
“At ALDI, our top priority is the safety and integrity of the products we sell,” the company said in a statement. “If customers have products affected by this recall, we recommend that they immediately discard them or return them to their local store for a full refund.”
“ALDI sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience and concern caused as a result of this recall.”
Frozen food recalls with metal contamination are rare, but not extremely rare.
Last August, Perdue Foods LLC recalled more than 165,000 pounds of frozen chicken nuggets and chicken tenders due to reports of metal contamination.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced the recall after “consumer complaints” that chicken nuggets and chicken tenders had embedded metal wires.
