Prominent food critic Keith Lee canceled a gourmet tour to San Francisco midway through, citing the city's insecurity and poor quality of food, some of which he said caused allergic reactions.
Lee, who has about 16 million followers on TikTok and more than 500 million likes on the content he posts, decided to move to the Bay Area this week after discovering some less-than-desirable conditions. He announced to his fans that he would be shortening his trip. when he got there.

“Before we went, people were comparing it to Gotham City, and while I may not agree, I understand where that was coming from,” Lee said. He added that people still feel “amazing.”
Before moving on to his next reason for ending the tour, he said he felt the city government “should step in” to help the people trying to survive there.
He also said that this was his first food-based city trip and that he didn't have anything nice to say about the food and “didn't feel comfortable posting more than half a dozen videos.”
The third and “perhaps most important” reason for ending the tour was that he had an allergic reaction to one of the meals, apparently due to exposure to shellfish, and had to go to the hospital.
