The winner of Powerball’s second-largest jackpot prize worth $1.765 billion was announced Friday, five months after the life-changing drawing.
Theodorus Strück was named to represent the group that purchased $1 billion worth of tickets at the Frazier Park, California, market for the October 11 drawing. California Lottery announced.
The brand new billionaire is described as a 65-year-old resident of a mountain town of about 3,000 people, just 500 meters from the store. According to KGET.
“He loves his grandchildren,” Struck’s neighbor Mary Dreyer told the publication. “He’s really fun to be around. Yesterday I noticed he was holding up a ‘No Trespassing’ sign.” ”

Midway Market, a family-owned business in Kern County, 120 miles north of Los Angeles, received $1 million for being the store that sold the winning ticket.
“I couldn’t believe it at first. I think this might be the biggest thing that’s ever happened at Frazier Park,” owner Nidal “Andy” Kalil told the Post in October. . “I have some people who buy tickets every day, so I hope they become my regular customers.”
This $1.765 billion win was $28 million short of Edwin Castro’s historic $2.04 billion win in November 2022.
Castro was announced as the ticket holder of the nation’s largest lottery jackpot and has since increased his impressive real estate portfolio while purchasing several cars, including a green vintage model Porsche.
