PragerU Supplemental Educational Materials Adopted in Arizona

PragerU’s supplementary materials for school curriculum have arrived in Arizona, and Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Horn couldn’t be happier.

Breitbart News also participated in a rally Wednesday on the grounds of the Arizona State Capitol celebrating the adoption of PragerU’s supplemental educational materials.

Immediately after the rally, PragerU’s Marissa Streit responded to a question from a local reporter and said, “We believe that everything kids should be learning, but probably shouldn’t be, is available through free options, such as videos, magazines, and books.” “We’re here to provide supplemental educational content.” I haven’t learned. We are here to open the window. ”

Breitbart News was then given exclusive access to interviews with Mr. Horn and Mr. Streit.

During the interview, Streit emphasized how “heartwarming” it was to see PragerU parents attending the rally and showing their support for the new material. But she noted that “hit pieces” have already been written against Superintendent Horn, and now that the adoption of PragerU’s material is official, she suspects more left-wing backlash will follow.

Mr. Horne was quick to point out: [criticism] Looking from the left gives me the same adrenaline rush my friend gets from skydiving. ”

Streit pointed out that left-wing attacks on Horn aren’t limited to local and regional stations, with MSNBC’s Joy Reid calling Horn “the worst state education official in America.” did.

“Being called the worst state education official by Joy Reed is the greatest compliment I can receive,” Horn said in response.

Then, with a smile, he described his involvement in Arizona education in the 1990s when he was a state legislator, and the topic was charter schools. He said he believed then and now that when it comes to education, “the market should prevail and people should have as many choices as they want.”

Horne explained: “Arizona has those options. It’s not like New York where they have a lottery and one in 100 can go to a charter school and the rest are crying. Here, anyone who wants to go to a charter school can go to a charter school. You can come.”

Streit noted that the left is still upset that Horn brought options to Arizona education, such as the addition of new PragerU supplementary materials.

“One of the questions we face is, ‘Why don’t we have bureaucrats scrutinize everything?'” she said. My answer to that is, “Well, why don’t you ask your parents to review the content?”

Mr. Horne replied: The mission statement we adopted when I was elected is that the Department of Education is a service organization dedicated to improving academic achievement and empowering parents. ”

PragerU’s materials offer “content grounded in traditional American values that inspire self-reliance, patriotism, and resilience while teaching foundational knowledge in subjects ranging from civics to financial literacy.”
