Following the aborted second apparent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, reactions have flooded in and the phrase “Pray for President Trump” has been trending on X.
Trump was found safe by police in West Palm Beach, Florida, after what the FBI said was the president's second assassination attempt, nearly two months after he was shot in the ear at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, U.S. Secret Service agents engaged a man who was carrying a scoped AK-47-style rifle, a backpack and a Go-Pro. Agents apparently fired shots at the man, who then fled in a black Nissan. Witnesses saw the man flee and took photos of the vehicle and license plate, according to the sheriff's office. Police encountered and detained the man on I-95 in Martin County, Florida.
As the slogan “Pray for President Trump” spread on social media, responses flooded in.
“I'm relieved to hear that President Trump is alive and well following the reported second assassination attempt,” said Senate candidate Kali Lake.
“In the wake of this assassination attempt, I pray for peace for Trump and his family, and for an end to the demonization of this good man and his movement. Now is the time for us Americans to come together to return Trump to the Oval Office and restore sanity to the world,” she added.
“Here we go again, folks!” Donald Trump Jr. said of the news, citing a statement from the Trump campaign.
“I am thankful that President Trump, his family, staff and Secret Service are all safe following the recent attempted shooting. Please pray for President Trump and our country,” Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-Texas) said, adding, “Please pray for President Trump and our country.”
“Please pray for President Trump and his family. Please pray for our country. Evil cannot prevail,” Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey wrote.
“Anna and I are grateful that President Trump is safe and we thank the law enforcement officers protecting him. We pray that God continues to watch over him and our country,” said Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.).
Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), Trump's running mate, said he spoke with Trump before the news was made public and that the president was in “surprisingly good spirits.”
“There is still much we don't know, but tonight I will hold my children even tighter than usual and say a prayer of thanks,” he said.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) called on everyone to “pray for President Trump,” before adding that the opposition would “do whatever it takes to stop him from winning.”
“Pray for President Trump. Pray for America. Fight for freedom,” Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) said, as others joined in.
