Key Player:shohei ohtani. A team filled with superstars only has one unicorn. Before Tommy John's surgery, he had emerged as one of the best pitchers in baseball. A purely batsman last year, he founded a 50-50 club (finishing with 54 home runs and 59 steals). What will probably be kept for his encore as his arm rejoins his bat as a weapon for the Dodgers? Can existing National League MVPs win the National League CY Young Award?
Players who need to step up: Dave Roberts. We're cheating a bit with our managers here, but the Dodgers may have the most talented rotation, bullpen and lineup in baseball. Others simply try to crack in the postseason, but the Dodgers' season goal is to prepare as many players as possible for October. There are many injuries concerns, from Freddie Freeman to the entire rotation, and Roberts tries to maintain a surplus of happy and healthy abilities.
