Concerns About Women’s Health

Women’s health and safety shouldn’t be trivialized, yet for years, planning parents have done just that.

Taxpayers will no longer fund the organization, creating space for genuine care that values pregnant mothers.

For the first time, Congress has allocated funds for planning parents and abortion providers in this year’s federal budget. This is a significant shift and marks a beginning in addressing taxpayer funding of the abortion industry.

The Pro-Life Movement is seizing this opportunity to ensure that women considering abortion, regardless of their decisions, can access a wide range of support from pregnancy resource centers and birth homes.

These resources aim to provide compassionate support to mothers and their children before, during, and after birth, fostering both physical and mental well-being. This network seeks to honor life and empower women while strengthening families for years ahead.

Since Planned Parenthood announced its intention to establish an abortion center in my Texas hometown nearly three decades ago, I’ve been vocal about the destructive impact of abortion on women’s lives. Interestingly, those who claim to support women often discourage them from seeking help from more supportive sources that can provide better emotional and physical care.

Studies show that nearly 70% of women with a history of abortion feel conflicted about their choices. Furthermore, around 60% of women who have undergone abortion express that they were pressured into the decision.

Planned Parenthood might suggest risky surgical procedures or push dangerous chemical abortion drugs. In contrast, a local pregnancy resource center can offer practical resources, counseling, and reassurance at crucial moments. Indeed, many women report feeling comforted and supported after visiting local pregnancy centers.

A Nebraska mother found help after years of drug addiction and homelessness. When she was pregnant with her third child, she was surprisingly connected to a supportive local motherly home. This was a turning point, as she felt truly believed in for the first time.

Today, she has been free from substance abuse for nearly two decades and has built a stable life, owning a home and working two jobs.

Another mother from Mississippi encountered a non-judgmental atmosphere at her local pregnancy help center when she became pregnant in college. She received extensive support, including prenatal vitamins and counseling, which alleviated her fears about balancing motherhood with her education.

Such supportive resources often seem scarce at many Planned Parenthood locations. For example, a 2024 analysis indicated that 97% of clients seeking pregnancy assistance were not offered prenatal care but rather received help for miscarriages or adoption planning.

These heartfelt stories from women accessing pregnancy centers reflect a broader trend. Across the country, approximately 2,750 such centers are making a real difference. They are helping women overcome addictions and escape abusive relationships. In 2022 alone, these centers provided services to clients over 16 million times.

When news broke about substandard care at Planned Parenthood facilities, many expressed support for cutting taxpayer funding for such organizations. Polling indicates that a large majority of Americans are eager to learn about the compassionate care available through pregnancy and birth centers.

Interestingly, about 70% of the public supports funding local pregnancy resource centers, advocating for basic needs like prenatal care, diapers, and cribs instead of the services provided by some abortion facilities.

The overturning of Roe v. Wade required substantial unity and grassroots effort over 50 years. The pro-life initiatives seen today represent continued dedication to fostering a culture of life in America.

Our commitment remains to provide mothers and children in need the support they require from conception to natural death.
